The International Year of Biodiversity will be celebrated thoroughly and in many different ways by the EUROPARC Nordic-Baltic Section member organisations. When submitted to the secretariat, the overviews of their activitites will be published here.

Biodiversity is Life - Biodiversity is our Life
EUROPARC is a registered supporter of the United Nations International Year of Biodiversity, which means we are part of a worldwide network of people who are devoted to halting the loss of biodiversity. Read more on the official International Year of Biodiversity website.
Most of EUROPARCs activities will be listed in the IYB calendar of events.

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) entered into force in 1993 and has 3 main objectives:
1. The conservation of biological diversity
2. The sustainable use of the components of biological diversity
3. The fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilisation of genetic resources.
